General
1. All stock remains the property of Portland Wines until payment has been received.
2. A minimum order value of £30 (excluding delivery) is required.
3. Should an order be accepted where an item is out of stock at the time of purchase, the item will automatically be refunded. If the order no longer meets the £30 minimum spend required, the order will be cancelled and a refund issued. We may attempt to contact you via phone to offer an alternative product.
4. All refunds will be made to the card used to make the purchase. Refunds normally take up to 10 working days for our card provider to process. Please wait until after this time before contacting us if you have not received your refund yet.
5. In store discounts and discounts for outback wine club members do not apply to orders made online (due to technical reasons!). This may be reviewed at a later date.
6. Discount offers online are not available in store.
7. We reserve the right to cancel orders and provide a refund for any orders placed. This includes where items on the website have been priced incorrectly.
Free Local Delivery
8. Free local delivery is available for PR8 and PR9 postcodes only.
9. Delivery slots are available
12pm – 9pm on Wednesday – Sunday
10. Customers can choose a delivery slot at the time of purchase. Orders for the 12pm-9pm slot must be placed by 3pm that day. Delivery slots can be selected up to 7 days in advance.
11. Portland Wine Cellars Ltd will make all reasonable efforts to deliver to the requested delivery slot. On occasion this may not be possible. In these cases orders may be delivered at a later time. Customers will be advised by email of any changes to their delivery slots.
12. Due to safety and insurance reasons, we are unable to leave orders unattended. All orders must be left with a person aged 18+. If, for any reason, we are unable to deliver your order, we will return it to our store. We will then contact you to arrange a new delivery date.
13. If we are unable to deliver your order after two attempts, your order will be cancelled and a refund issued, minus a £10 restocking fee.
14. Any orders must be paid for in full online at the time of purchase. No cash on delivery orders will be accepted.
15. Orders placed in advance may be cancelled, subject to a £5 restocking fee. Cancellations must be received before the start time of your delivery slot.
National Delivery
16. National delivery is available to mainland UK postal addresses only. Orders placed for addresses we cannot deliver to will be cancelled and refunded.
17. Orders will be shipped using either Royal Mail Tracked 24 for orders up to £75 and Parcel Force Express for orders over £75.
18. Due to postal regulations regarding sending alcohol, only up to 4 items can be shipped in a single parcel. Delivery charges will be applied per parcel.
19. Orders are covered under the standard insurance for the Royal Mail Tracked 24 and Parcel Force Express 48 services. By placing an order with us you agree to accept the terms of this insurance as the sole protection offered for delivery. We reserve the right not to offer refunds for failed deliveries for reasons outside the terms of this insurance. The current terms can be found on the post office website.
20. Higher order values require a corresponding higher level of insurance for delivery and will therefore incur higher delivery charges. The current insurance bands are
- Up to £75
- £75.01 to £150
- Greater than £150
Where orders contain a mix of higher and lower priced items, it may be worthwhile placing the lower items in a separate order to minimise delivery charges as the website isn't smart enough to work out the lowest possible delivery charges on multiple parcels of mixed value items.
21. Orders should arrive within 3 - 7 working days.
22. In the event of a problem with an order, please contact us as soon as possible, quoting your order number. Note that refunds cannot be issued for any opened items.
Updates to terms and conditions
23. We reserve the right to change or amend these terms and conditions at any time and for any reason.
24. By placing an order you are agreeing to accept these terms and conditions, with the version current at the time of the order deemed binding.
